TAKEN 4 (2024) With Liam Neeson
Taken (also titled 96 Hours and The Hostage) is a 2008 French English-language action-thriller film written by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen, and directed by Pierre Morel. It stars Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace, Famke Janssen, Katie Cassidy, Leland Orser, and Holly Valance. Neeson plays Bryan Mills, a former CIA operative who sets about tracking down his teenage daughter Kim (Grace) and her best friend Amanda (Cassidy) after the two girls are kidnapped by Albanian human traffickers while traveling in France during a vacation.
Liam Neeson made a name for himself in Taken franchise. I think despite the last two not doing well plot wise, and the way it was filmed was outdated, I think Bryan Mills deserves a second chance to return. I would be interested in seeing a Taken 4 film with bigger plot like Angel Has Fallen and the action scenes to be modern, no more shaky cams but fight scenes like John Wick. Plot wise I changed it a bit, by not making the President gets taken right away, instead the White House gets attacked then Bryan Mills gets framed. Later the President does gets taken and the search for Mills intensifies. The best segment is the “I know who framed me” from Mills we get a response from Pierce “Which one” then Mills says “ He’s an old friend. He’s back for one thing. Payback”. I think the music was perfect because it captured the vibe of the franchise which is action thriller drama. This version does well of showing the plot of Bryan Mills must face is dark past to move on and have peace. The line established that “Long ago I sh0t his brother” that’s why Keaton is back for payback. This is great because for the first time Bryan Mills is not a fully good guy, so the only way for him to clear his name he must face his old friend.
